Motion Detector – Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

This policy explains what information the Motion Detector app (package fi.dntech.motiondetector), published by DNT, handles and why.

Pictures and the camera

Motion Detector uses your device's camera only while you are using the preview or while motion detection is switched on. When motion is detected, the app saves a picture in its own folder on your device (Android/data/fi.dntech.motiondetector/files). Pictures are never uploaded, shared or sent to us or to anyone else. Uninstalling the app deletes these pictures.

Notifications

While detection is running, the app shows a notification with the number of pictures taken. This stays on your device.

No account, no personal data from us

The app has no sign-in and does not ask for your name, email address or other personal details. We do not collect, store or sell personal data.

Advertising

The app is free and shows a banner ad provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process:

This data is sent to Google over an encrypted connection. Google's use of it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

Your choices

In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, using Google's consent form. You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy settings button in the app. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's settings.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date.
